How Startup Weekend handles application information.
Who is organizing this?
UCSB Startup Weekend is hosted by UCSB SEP (Sigma Eta Pi). This notice describes this event website and its applications.
What we collect
When collection is enabled, we ask for your name, email, major, year of study, and team preference. If you join with a team, we also collect each teammate’s name and email address to organize the team’s participation. Interests and a note are optional. We also record the time of submission and the version of this notice you agreed to.
How we use it
The organizers use these details to plan participation and communicate about the event. Submitting an application does not guarantee a place. This website does not send automatic confirmation emails.
Storage and access
Entries are stored in a private database and are not displayed publicly. Authorized organizers can export the list to organize the event. We do not sell your details or publish an attendee directory. The organizers should remove application records within 90 days after the event or its cancellation, unless you separately agree to further contact.
Cookies and abuse prevention
This site uses a temporary security cookie to protect form submissions. It expires after two hours. A keyed hash of the network address is used for rate limiting, with a one-hour expiry. This site does not include advertising or analytics trackers.
Corrections and removal

UCSB SEP websitePreview mode
When the form is marked as a preview, the information you enter stays in that page and is not submitted or saved. Local test mode stores test entries only on the machine running the site.
